NUTOX Renewing Treatment Cream [Review]

9:39:00 PM,0 Comments

Hi everyone! I haven’t post much about moisturizers in this blog, even though I have been trying quite few moisturizers in the past months. So today I’m going to review one of the moisturizer that caught my eyes from the drugstore. Read more to find out my opinion on this moisturizer.

[Review]
NUTOX
Renewing Treatment Cream

I am not that picky when it comes to moisturizer, as long as it does moisturize well, last quite okay without need to reapply often, doesn’t irritate my skin and the most important thing that it relieves the dryness and tightness on my skin. Then, that moisturizer will be good enough for me.

The reason I attracted to this moisturizer because, first of all, maybe because it’s pink! Who else bought anything because it packaged so well? Or even just because it comes in your favourite colour? I always attracted to pretty packaging and if it works well too with my skin then it will be a hit for me hahaha. But bottom line, it has work for me to love it, keep it and repurchase it. Second reason maybe because it claimed to be perfect for all skin types.

What It Claims:
Radiate - Care for your skin today, so that you can stay beautiful tomorrow and always. Nutox Renewing Treatment Cream is formulated with LumiNes to smoothen the skin. This cream also provides nourishment from deep within to keep skin radiantly glowing for a long time.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Diethylhexyl Carbonate, Cetearyl Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbitan Olivate, Ammonium Acrylolydimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylic/ Capric Trigylceride, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Chlorphenesin, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol, Fragrance, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Pancratium Maritimum Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Gylcol, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Proline, Alanine, Serine, Diacetyl Boldine, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Hydroxide.

Paraben, Sulfate and Alcohol Free but it has silicone.

Ingredients Analysis (Incidecoder):

How to Use It:
Use it after all your hydration steps (toner, serum & essence) and before your sunscreen.

Use how much your skin need.

*for a jar like this, try to use spatula to scoop out the products or make sure your hands are clean to avoid contaminate the products.

Packaging & Price:
Light pink frosted glass jar container with silver/chrome lid. RM 47.50 for 30 ml (as of date).

The packaging look so expensive and beautiful to put on your vanity. Love the packaging so much. The glass has it weight too. Really nice!

Texture:
            Gel type moisturizer.

The texture is really nice, I really like it, so smooth easily to spread too. It absorbed so well into my skin.

Scent:
Fragrance is too strong almost like a perfume instead. And it lingers for a while too. I hate the smell, too strong for me and I think the fragrance in it irritates me (note that I have sensitive, just a tad fragrance or essential oils always fine, but this one my skin can’t handle it).

Personal Review:
The packaging is the bomb! Feel super luxurious and so pretty on your vanity and your table – very Pinterest and Instagrammable. The texture is also nice, spread easily too. Combined these, this moisturizer makes me feel like indulging myself. I really enjoy me-time. I think this moisturizer definitely would be nice for a me-time session. You know, slathering the moisturizer (feeling so lux) and just enjoying it. However, there is ONE big problem!

It does irritate me and burn my skin. I don’t know what's wrong here, but looking at the ingredients all seems fine. Seems all are okay and good for dry skin, but it turns out not for me. But I suspected the fragrance is the culprit and it is too strong for me. Not only the scent is too strong, it lingers for a while too. Often I had a mild headache due to the strong scent that lingers my face. I hate it. I love products that smell good but I wish it will not linger and this is just too much for me.

I did stop for a while, I thought that maybe my skin was irritated at the first place before using the moisturizer. But after using it again and again, I’ve noticed that the moisturizer actually the one that burns and irritates it. It even burns when I applied it on my hands too. It claimed perfect for all skin types but I wouldn’t suggest it for people with sensitive skin.
In terms of hydration and if it really moisturize my skin? I can’t comment that as I unable to wear it due to burning sensation and irritation it gave me. I would suggest if you want to try this one, do a patch test first okay? Before put it on your whole face.

Overall opinion:
Do I like it?
No.

Will I re-purchase it?
No.

Do I recommend it?
No, especially to sensitive skin.
Only if your skin fine with fragrances. This will feels so luxurious and pampering.

HADA LABO Mild and Sensitive Facial Cleanser [Review]

11:32:00 AM,0 Comments

Hi everyone! It’s less than a week for raya! What have you guys prepared for Raya this year? Okay, this post is about one of my favourite cleansers. So keep reading to find out why I love this particular cleanser.

[Review]
HADA LABO
Mild and Sensitive Facial Cleanser

If you have been following me, you may know that I have a dry skin and sensitive one. Usually people with dry skin wouldn’t go for a foam cleanser, but I was in searching for a gentle foam cleanser that won’t strip a dry-sensitive skin like mine. Which usually most foam cleansers do stripped my skin and make it feels so tight and uncomfortable. I did try a hydrating or cream cleanser, but it doesn’t feel so satisfying to wash face especially in the night routine. I prefer it for my morning routine instead.

Since I have severe acne issues before this, during the treatments I was looking for a basic cleanser. Just a basic one, that will do good cleaning on skin so that I can have a clean palette every morning and night, doesn’t have any actives ingredients in it (as it might interfere with my medications) and the most important thing I feel clean without it stripping my skin. And currently there are many types of cleansers out there and finding a good gentle basic cleanser is quite hard for me. Fret not, I found it!

What It Claims:

Ingredients:
Water, Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamide DEA, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Chloride, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin, Polyquarternium-63, Glycerin, Disodium EDTA, Onsen-Sui, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Propylene Glycol, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Glucose, Sodium Benzoate, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Lactic Acid, Caramel.

Fragrances, Colorant, Mineral Oil, Paraben, Sulfate, Alcohol and Silicone free with minimal ingredients. (so many free right???)

Key Ingredients claimed by the brand:
Calendula Extract – a natural herb that helps to relieve skin redness and irritation.
Ginkgo Biloba Leaves Extract – a botanical extract known for its antioxidant to helps protect skin from signs of aging.

Incidecoder Analysis:

How to Use It:
A dime size or just a blob should be fine as it will lather, but it depends on your preferences and need. I just use a small amount and it was enough for me.
Use it at second step in the night routine or use it as first step in the morning.
Like normal cleanser, lather it, massage the cleanser on your face for about 60 sec (60 sec rules) then rinse it off. Followed by your other skincare routine.

Packaging & Price:
Simple white opaque tube with flip flop cap. RM 26.50 for 100 gram (as of date).
Quite big, you don’t need to use as much and it can last quite long time, therefore worth the money in my opinion.

Texture:
Creamy foam cleansers – I really love the foam, it has very fine foams and felt so nice on my skin. Love how soft my skin look after cleansing.
It doesn’t strip my skin on most days but on days that my skin is super dry sometimes it does feel slight tightness on my skin.

Scent:
I don’t notice any noticeable scent on the product.

Personal Review:
As I mentioned before, I was looking for a basic gentle foam cleanser that will not strip my face, doesn’t irritate it (I turn red so easily) and do its job as a cleanser. I just want a basic foam cleanser. And I found one! Yeayy.

I love it has soap free formula, that’s indicate how gentle this cleanser is. Especially when you have dry skin you don’t want to take off all your natural oils from your face and makes it super dry and tight on your skin. And usually the culprit making your skin super tight and uncomfortable is due to the soap ingredients in it. And it is good for a sensitive skin people knowing that it is gentle enough to use. Even though it is soap free, but it lather well too. It lathers into fine-creamy foams and it felt so nice on my skin.

Sometimes, I do find that this cleanser give me slight tightness on days where my skin are super dry. So this is what I do, always listen to your skin, if today my skin is too dry I wouldn’t reach any foam cleanser even for my night routine, or if I still use it, as the tightness are not that severe, I will make sure that I pack enough hydration and moisturize my skin well. One of the reasons that can cause your skin barrier issue is due to over cleaning your skin. So don’t clean it too often, don’t do it too long and don’t strip your skin, it will damage your skin barrier.

Speaking about skin barrier, I have been obsessed looking for skin barrier repairing products. This particular cleanser is actually formulated with Thermal Spring Water which it claimed that can help strengthen skin’s natural barrier. Good isn’t?

No irritation at all. So far it has been one of my favourite cleanser. This is currently my second tube now. I love it especially at my night time routine. It is so so so gentle and mild for my skin. My skin feels comfortable, it doesn’t burn neither irritate it. I have been using this almost a year and it has been doing great for me. I used to use the Hada Labo Hydrating Cleanser one, which is okay too in my opinion, but I prefer this so much more.

Overall opinion:
Do I like it?
Yes! Super Love!

Will I re-purchase it?
Already did.

Do I recommend it?
Of course!
In my opinion even if you have different skin than mine, using a gentle cleanser will still benefit any skin types. I would say try it, you might love it as I do, but different skin react differently and depends on your preferences too.

Hello! Hope you guys still stay safe and keep practicing the new normal. Yeahhh another sunscreen review today. Since MCO, I have time to try different products and observed how well it works for my skin. So just let’s go straight into the review.

 [Review]
Clinelle

UV Filters:
Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane / Avobenzone – UVA filter
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate / Octinoxate – UVB filter
Benzophenone-3 / Oxybenzone – UVB Filter

This is a chemical sunscreen, all filters are chemical sunscreens ingredients.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Carbomer, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein/PVP Crosspolymer, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Benzophenone-3, Butylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-51, Polysorbate 20, Hydrolyzed Silk, Xanthan Gum, Proplyene Gylcol, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Bisabolol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Isoceteth-20, Pearl Extract, Glycerin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Paraben, Sulfate, Alcohol and Silicone Free with Minimal Ingredients.

How to Use It:
Apply on cleansed and toned skin at least 30 minutes (as recommended the label) before expose to sun. I would suggest to add moisturizer before applying the sunscreen - make sure you have the basic routine ya.

Apply as the last step in your day skincare routine and reapply throughout the day. Use two (2) fingers method to measure how much you need for each application.

Packaging & Price:
Opaque white squeezable tube with orange flip flop cap. 30 ml for RM 47.90 (as of date).

Price wise? To be honest, this one categorized in drugstore sunscreen but the price is slightly more expensive than Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen travel size (30ml for RM 43). Love the packaging, easy to squeeze the products and I love it that it comes in small size, well actually this is the only size available. But I love it, for trial purposes or for travelling even for day to day activities, when it is small you can just put in your bag and reapply on the go.

Texture:
White lotion texture. Slight white cast visible.

It has thin texture when apply – the lotion feels nice to spread on my face. But even though it claimed non greasy, but I felt uncomfortable, thick and sticky on my face. It takes time to set too.

Scent:
I don’t know to describe it well but most of it all, it smell powdery to me.

The scent didn’t bother me at all – not overpowering and not even lingers.

Personal Review:
Okay, first and foremost, I love that it claimed it has Free of 6 items - No Artificial Fragrance, No Artificial Colouring, No Comedogenic Ingredients, No Mineral Oil, No SD-alcohol, No lanolin - which indicate how safe the product even for the sensitive skin. So I have high hopes for this product when purchasing it. Love the packaging, it is small makes it easier to travel around or just slip in my bag for re-application. About the scent, it was okay, don’t really like it but I don’t hate it either. Honestly I tried this sunscreen before and I love it. This about a year ago when my skin broke out really bad and my skin condition at the time was really dry and flaky with all bumps and acne all over. I love it so much that I finished a bottle.

So when I run out my favourite sunscreen I went and grab this as I remember how I am okay with this one. However now, I do not like this sunscreen, this is may be because I have different skin condition now compare to what I used to have. My skin currently is dry to normal skin as it started to heal and my skin barrier is repairing and I found that this sunscreen no longer suits me.

As it claimed non greasy but I now do feel uncomfortable on my skin. It still look shiny and feel sticky after I apply it. The texture feels thin when you applying it and spreading it on my face but once it is there, I feel like a thick layer covering my face. Not that very thin layer but not too thick either, but I can still feel the sunblock layer on my skin until it really sets. It feels like I am being protected from the sun (as I can literally feel it on my skin) but it is really uncomfortable for me. It took a while too to set on my face. Once it sets, the stickiness gone and left with a sheen on the surface.

My skin seems to turn red especially around my cheek area and sometimes I noticed that my skin looked darker after using it. This indicate that my skin is irritated and not suitable using it. It also claimed to be non comedogenic but I found few clogged pores after weeks of using it. When I stopped using this sunscreen, I found the problem is resolved. So maybe the product is non comedogenic but it may not suitable with my cream and my serum. Maybe.

I did tried combined with gel moisturizer and cream type with this sunscreen, so far, it doesn’t have any problem, it suits both and it doesn’t pilling. Would love the texture if it is under my makeup, because the stickiness could grab the makeup and hold it there act as a primer. The shininess could give a natural glow under the makeup too.

I experienced it myself, your skin can change therefore you might not like the products that you once loved before. As you skin condition changed due to age, weather, environment, activities, diets and treatments. Skincare is a journey. That is why I write my experience here, so that one day if I want to go back to certain products, I can refer to how I felt at the time.

p/s: Near RAYA ni, don’t try new products, don’t introduce any acids to your skincare. Keep with what you know work for you, okay?

Overall opinion:
Do I like it?
Used to. But not anymore.

Will I re-purchase it?
No

Do I recommend it?
Maybe who has really dry skin might pull off this one.
